PARKS ON THE AIR PLAQUE EVENT 2023 AWARD CATEGORY WINNERS
The results are in. Thanks for your patience as the Plaque Event volunteers scrutinized the results to insure accuracy. You’ll see that the attached document notes the winner in each category as well as the second and third place positions. The only exception is with the Rookie categories where we only announce the winner. Please also take a moment to note the sponsor of each plaque. We couldn’t have done this without their financial support.
The first Parks on the Air contest, the 2023 Plaque Event, was a success by any measure. The weekend tallies of 139,000 QSOs, 22,000 hunters and exactly 1224 activators reflected substantial year over year increases. But more important were the actual individual and club efforts. On the solo activator front, EA2EZ, WI5D, K7CAR, and KH6WI turned in amazing 48 hour totals. Well known hunter, WD4DAN led the pack in most contacts and reminded us all that he’s a rookie! Club activators from K4YTZ, W5SSV and VE3GCB were all well represented over the weekend but the gang from YCARS, K4YTZ won the category by an impressive margin.
Thank you to all the participants - activators, hunters and clubs - who filled the air waves on June 3rd and 4th.
